New boiler fitted for self-employed client

A Test Valley resident contacted our Hitting the Cold Spots team to ask for help to replace her boiler following a difficult few years of self-employment which led to financial worries.

Our Energy Advisers carried out the relevant eligibility checks and arranged for an approved contractor to carry out the work. On the day of installation, the engineer discovered that a gas pipe had been leaking which meant immediately cutting off the supply and replacing the parts as well as the boiler itself.

Becky Windwood, Hitting the Cold Spots project manager, said: “It’s understandable that the past few years have been financially difficult for a lot of people so the unsafe boiler must’ve been particularly stressful for this client. We’re able to apply for grants for eligible clients and put them in touch with approved contractors to carry out the work, so I’m pleased that this situation was resolved quickly and efficiently.”
