Hitting the Cold Spots
Hitting the Cold Spots is a free, home energy advice service available to Hampshire residents. The service is funded by Hampshire County Council and delivered by our friendly and experienced energy advisers here at the Environment Centre (tEC).
The service offers one-to-one advice over the phone to help residents keep their home at a comfortable temperature all year round and make their household energy use as efficient as possible. The team also helps people understand and manage their energy bills, sign up for priority services, tackle damp and mould, and more. Hitting the Cold Spots works on a case-by-case basis; recognising that each household’s circumstances are different. Some clients, those on a low income and living with health conditions for example, could be eligible for a home visit and even funding to replace heating and hot water systems.
Our energy advisers keep up to date with local and national grants, funding streams and support services that clients could be eligible for. They then help clients apply and can answer questions every step of the way. Lots of our clients have benefited from home improvements including loft insulation, new boilers, radiators and more.
