Grant funding for solar panels
This Southampton client lives on their own and is on a low income. They initially contacted us for advice on reducing their environmental impact and the cost of running their home.
Key outcomes:
✅ Grant funding for solar panels
✅ Reduced energy bills
✅ Increased energy independence
We introduced the client to the support available through Southampton Healthy Homes. In doing so, we discovered their eligibility for a grant to fund solar panels. The client was delighted at the multiple benefits of reducing their electricity bills while also gaining energy independence.
Our support to the client continues as we explore opportunities to install an air-to-air heat pump; a low carbon technology that heats the home in winter and cools it in summer. As well as reducing reliance on a gas boiler, this switch would help to make the home more resilient to extreme temperatures. In turn, this will help the client manage their health vulnerabilities.
This client has demonstrated the multiple benefits of contacting the Southampton Healthy Homes team and we look forward to supporting their next steps.
Southampton Healthy Homes is kindly funded by Southampton City Council.
