Burn less this winter

As we enter the colder months and look for ways to stay warm, it’s important that we understand the impact of our choices on the environment and our health.

This time of year, some people might be considering switching to a log burner as an alternative to gas when heating their home. Although energy prices remain high, we cannot recommend this as a healthy or environmentally-friendly solution, nor as a cheaper way to heat your home. In fact, it’s been scientifically proven that burning wood causes harm to our health and our planet.

We’re pleased to continue working with Southampton City Council, Eastleigh Borough Council, New Forest District Council and Winchester City Council this winter to help share information about wood burning and its impact on our health and the environment. You might have spotted our adverts at bus stops and on billboards across the region!

Together, we’re asking residents with log burners to help clean up Hampshire’s air by burning less. To learn more about wood burning and its impact on our health and environment, head over to our wood burning information hub.
