Our story

Our story

The Environment Centre (tEC) started life in December 1993 as Southampton Environment Centre. In the early days we established ourselves as change-makers in the Southampton area, but it wasn’t long before we became known to a much wider region.

Since our inception, we’ve worked on a diverse range of local, national and European projects from fuel poverty, air quality and waste minimisation to best practice in behaviour change, sustainable construction and peak energy demand reduction.

We’ve always been a flexible organisation that can adapt to the changing needs of our valued partners and funders. Our passion and expertise have always been rooted in protecting the environment and we’ll keep working, every day, to make the world a better place.
