Portsmouth Open Homes Week

Thinking about switching to a heat pump, or installing solar panels? Do you have questions about solar batteries, or wall insulation? Portsmouth Open Homes week is your perfect chance to see these measures in action.

From 27th June to 5th July 2026, six Portsmouth homeowners are inviting people to visit their home and see their energy (and money) saving in action.

Viola is a homeowner taking part. She said,

“Installing electric heating, alongside solar panels and an EV, has saved us an enormous amount of money, and helps save the planet too.”

And the benefits go further. Viola hopes to stay in her home for as long as possible, so making it more energy efficient has also been an investment in her long-term independence.

“It’s about being independent, innovative and less reliant on the grid. We’ve prepared our home for the future.”

Rachel lives in a Victorian terrace home and has upgraded her home energy efficiency, step-by-step over time. She said,

“Doing it at the same time as other building maintenance means there’s not much additional cost.”

Kate visited an open home herself a few years ago before installing a heat pump. She’s delighted with how it has performed in her traditional Victorian terrace home.

“It’s been absolutely game-changing to feel comfortable at home all winter.”

If you’re thinking about ways to get ahead of the energy crisis, why not take the opportunity to see some ideas in practice?
