Air quality

Poor air quality is a large and complex environmental issue that we’re tackling, head on.

It can be linked to home energy in topics such as burning wood for warmth or dealing with damp and mould. But we don’t stop there. Our project delivery extends beyond the home and into the wider world of air quality’s impact on public health and the environment.

Check out our highlight video to see some of the projects we’ve delivered in the community:

Wood smoke causes big problems for the planet as well as ourselves. Every time we light a fire, we’re releasing harmful gases including carbon monoxide, benzene and formaldehyde into the environment, as well as soot and dirt (particulate matter). Learn more about the hidden harms of woodsmoke.

😷 Air quality and its impact on health

Air pollution is the greatest environmental risk to public health in the UK. Almost every organ in the body is affected by air pollution, and it is associated with more than 700 long-term health conditions*.
