World Autism Awareness week starts 29 March and finishes on 4 April.
At the Environment Centre (tEC) we help people live healthy sustainable lives in their homes in Southampton, Portsmouth and Hampshire. We want to make our services available to as many people in these places as possible and so our team have had training in autism and dementia awareness.
This means we have learned about some of the things that make it hard for people with autism or dementia to get the help they need. We learned that different types of communication work for different people, and we know that we need to change the way we respond to some people, to provide help in a way that suits them.
We can talk about home energy efficiency by phone, by email or even by text message. When we are not in lockdown, we are sometimes able to meet people face to face as well.
Contact us if you have questions about energy efficiency in your home in Southampton, Portsmouth and Hampshire and we will do everything we can to help you get the information you need.
Phone us for free on 0800 804 8601 (in Southampton and Hampshire) and 0800 260 5907 (in Portsmouth).
Email us on email@example.com.
We answer our phones and emails from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, except Bank Holidays.
Autism Hampshire is an organisation supporting people with autism who live in Hampshire, and their families. Through World Autism Awareness week, they are asking people to nominate people for their Autism Awareness Awards. They are running a Virtual Art Exhibition, and are sharing Interviews with their ‘Expert by Experience’ members.
