More than £4,800 of funding secured for client
An elderly client from Southampton who has been living with long Covid has received a new boiler and radiator upgrades amongst a series of preliminary home improvement work to make her property warmer and more energy efficient.
The client contacted us because their house was cold and they were looking for help with insulating it and keeping it warm.
Our Southampton Healthy Homes team allocated an energy adviser to talk this client through her options and help her gather quotes from local installers for the appropriate work. The adviser firstly identified that the property could benefit from a boiler upgrade and later went on to help the lady with getting quotes for loft and wall insulation, carry out a retrofit survey and find other support services such as the Priority Services Register, Warm Home Discount, Citizens Advice and Southern Water’s Essentials Tariff.
Overall, more than £4,800 was secured in grant funding for the client to receive a boiler, radiator upgrade and connection to a gas fire.
